A credit is InfraRed's unit of usage. Every action you take on the platform uses a set number of credits. Credits work across all products, so you have one general balance to manage regardless of which tools you use.

No. You can purchase credits on a pay-as-you-go basis and start using the platform immediately, with no monthly commitment required. Commitment plans are available for teams that want predictable costs and a lower price per credit.

On commitment plans, your credit balance resets at the start of each new billing period. We recommend choosing a plan that reflects your expected monthly usage to get the most value from your credits. If you exceed your plan's included credits, additional usage is billed at the overage rate for your tier. Overage rates are listed for each plan and are always lower than the standard pay-as-you-go rate of $0.02 per credit.

Yes. You can upgrade your plan at any time. If your usage consistently exceeds your current plan's included credits, upgrading to the next tier will reduce your overage costs and lower your effective price per credit.

InfraRed Extract runs two processes on every page: Classification (0.5 credits per page) and Extraction (3.0 credits per page), totalling 3.5 credits per page. If a document fails classification, for example, if the wrong document type was submitted, you are only charged for the Classification step (0.5 credits per page), not the full extraction.

It depends on the product. InfraRed Extract is priced per page, which means a ten-page bank statement counts as ten pages. InfraRed Shield is priced per document, regardless of how many pages it contains.

Commitment plans offer savings of up to 100% compared to pay-as-you-go rates. For example, the $500/month plan includes credits worth $720 at pay-as-you-go rates, saving $220 per month. Yearly plans offer the deepest discounts, with the highest tier reducing the cost per credit to $0.004, compared to $0.02 on pay-as-you-go.

All commitment plans include a dedicated Slack channel for priority support and higher API rate limits for high-volume processing. Pay-as-you-go customers have access to standard support.
